Encaustic Monotype

Encaustic technique, using heat to paint with oil pigments mixed with
beeswax and resin  is one of the oldest methods of painting going back to
ancient Egypt and Greece.  It is an incredibly rich medium with infinite
possibilities.  A variety of tools can be used to push the paint around

creating many interesting effects.  These were painted on a heated
surface and the transferred to paper.
